New York State COVID-19 Response.
When the New York State Department of Health needed to stand up Dynamics-based capability under pandemic conditions, the timeline was hours and days, not the weeks a peacetime engagement would have. We staffed it the way we would have staffed a contracted commercial recovery: senior architects, on call, with Microsoft Engineering in the loop.
What we walked into.
In the first weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic, the New York State Department of Health needed operational capability the existing systems were not built for. Case management at unprecedented scale. Resource tracking across hospitals and field sites. Reporting that had to be both fast and audit-defensible.
Ludia was one of the partners brought in to help stand up Dynamics 365-based capability against an operating window measured in days. The work was not glamorous and it was not optimized for a press release. It was the same delivery model as our commercial work, run on a wartime clock.

The hardest part of emergency response is the handoff. We stayed on past the immediate crisis until the operating model was stable and the state team owned it.
Impact.
The engagement is not one we tell extended stories about, because the work was for the state and the people the state was responding to, not for a Ludia case-study deck. What we will say: Dynamics 365 capability was operational against an emergency timeline, the engagement was delivered by senior US consultants on call through the surge, and the platform was handed off to a state team that could continue to operate it. It is the engagement Lucas references most often when explaining what Dynamics for Good is supposed to look like.
